Chris & Erin
Why we want to be parents:
We would love to become second time parents because we have so much love in our hearts. It has been a journey watching our first one grow and to think we might get to do it again makes our hearts flutter. We love being parents – even on the best and hardest of days – we could not imagine a world in which we aren’t parents.
What activities do we look forward to doing with a child:
What we look forward to most is seeing the bond form between our daughter and the baby. Ireland is so nurturing and loving and it will be a blessing for her. We look forward to the developmental stages again. There is something to be said about it all passing so quickly. The idea to see it all unfold again brings us such joy and we will not take those small and big moments for granted.
The people/pets who make up our family:
Our family is made up of our daughter, Ireland, our two greyhounds Sissy and Elvis, and our very fat cat, Calypso.
Our ethnic/cultural background:
Chris is of Irish, Scottish, and English heritage. Erin is of Irish, Italian, French-German, and Swedish heritage.
Family celebrations that are important to us:
Always birthdays! We have set the bar high on birthdays. Halloween and Christmas are fun at our house from a decoration standpoint. We have fun with any opportunity to celebrate, decorate, have fun, watch seasonal movies, and bake!
Any religious identification:
Erin and Ireland were baptized as Catholics at birth and Chris just came into the faith this year.
Fun activities we like to do:
We like to take walks together after dinner. We love going to our downtown district to shop and eat. Living next to Lake Michigan has been amazing! Ireland loves to play basketball and sing. Chris plays hockey and Erin has been learning to play guitar. We are definitely a reading family and love a good book! Oh and don’t forget Lego. Lots and lots of Lego builds at the Page home.
Where we live:
Saint Joseph, MI is considered a community as it is less than 10,000 people. However, it is a busy community in that it is a premier summer destination for those who live 2-3 hours away to escape to Lake Michigan.
Here are a few fun facts about each of us:
We love music and we have a small vinyl collection we like to turn on while relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. There is something about listening to your daughter sing an alternative song from the early 2000’s one afternoon and then a Beatle’s song the next morning when she is getting dressed. We try to have encourage music of all genres.
Erin has brown hair and brown eyes. Erin has two sisters that are identical twins with blonde hair and blue eyes. Ireland looks exactly like her aunts. It is nutty how genetics work out sometimes.
Another fun fact is our family name game. Chris’ birth name is Timothy Christopher. He has an older sister named Erin Lynn. Erin Lynn married Timothy Holland. So there is Timothy Christopher Page married to Erin Louise Page and Timothy Holland married to Erin Lynn Holland. Chris also has a younger sister named Susan (named after their Aunt Susan) who is married to an Andrew, which was their father’s name, Andrew T. Page. Lastly, Erin’s sister Cara married a Steven and their father’s name was Stephen.
One thing we would like the birth family to know about us/why we would be good parents:
We would like the birth parents to know that we are not perfect. We argue. We yell sometimes. We get frustrated with the world; but at the end of the day we love one another. We wake up every day choosing to love one another and trying to be better than the day before. Sometimes we are successful. Sometimes not so much. But at the end of the day, our love is strong and we value our family. We would be so lucky to bring into our family your child and by extension you as the birth parents.
