Case Aide

Location: Livonia, MI  |  Department: Foster Care

Position Overview

This is a support role to the Foster Care Department. This position requires someone who is organized, dependable, and flexible — someone who works well alone or as part of a team. This person must be able to adjust to a fast-paced environment and be comfortable around children. They should have a good driving record, as they will be required to transport children or families to and from the agency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma
  • A year or more of experience in this role at a Child Placing Agency is a plus, but not required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and proficient on a computer or laptop
  • Reliable transportation with valid registration and proof of insurance
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to pass criminal background checks and protective services lien clearance

Case Aide Responsibilities

  • Review Case Aide Request Forms and take appropriate action
  • Create and amend parenting time schedules as needed to accommodate requests
  • Supervise all pre-approved parenting time visits
  • Provide pre-approved transportation for clients
  • Enter parenting time contacts into MiSACWIS within two business days
  • Complete other MiSACWIS tasks as assigned
  • File client documents once per week, or more frequently if needed
  • Complete Foster Care file closures
  • Be physically able to perform job duties; if a disability requires work-related assistance, the agency will make accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Administer oral client drug screens as needed
  • Follow procedure for Physicals and Dentals for clients — send forms to foster parents and relative providers per procedure, follow up to ensure appointments are made, collect and upload completed forms to MiSACWIS, and log contacts as Social Work Contacts within two business days

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Provide back-up for phones and front desk coverage, including mail, doors, and greeting clients as needed
  • Other duties as requested

Foster Care Specialist

Location: Livonia, MI  |  Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 remote)  |  Position Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

The Foster Care Specialist provides case management services to children and families with a primary focus on family reunification. This role requires strong communication, organization, and the ability to support families through complex situations.

What You Will Do

  • Provide case management services to children and families
  • Conduct home visits and attend court hearings
  • Maintain documentation in MiSACWIS
  • Collaborate with families, courts, and community partners
  • Support reunification efforts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field required
  • One year of child welfare experience preferred
  • Strong communication, writing, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Details

  • 12 weeks of required CWTI training for new workers
  • Flexible scheduling including evenings and occasional weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record
