We are here to assist you with finding resources for things you may need such as maternity clothes, groceries, housing, and transportation. We will being there for you emotionally and will provide as little or as much counseling as you want, or just be a listening ear when you want to talk.
You are in the driver’s seat when it comes to making an adoption plan. You will be able to choose the adoptive family for your baby from viewing photo book profiles of adoptive families. You will then get to meet the family and establish contact with them. If you don’t want to meet the family that’s okay too. It’s all up to you. Oftentimes, birth mothers find that getting to know the adoptive family helps them to feel more comfortable and secure in their decision of adoption. At the hospital you can decide what your birth plan is. You may choose to have the adoptive family in the delivery room, or have them wait in the waiting room. You can see the baby after the birth or decide to not spend time with the baby. We will always honor your wishes and make sure the hospital staff knows the plan. Open adoption is very common today. You will have the opportunity to receive pictures and updates from the adoptive family as your child grows. If you don’t wish to have the adoption be open, that’s your decision too.
