Why we want to be parents:

We are so thankful for a beautiful relationship and can’t wait to share our love with children. From a young age, even before we met, we knew in our hearts that we both were made to be parents. We both went to college to become teachers, recognizing our passion for inspiring children to make our world a better place as they grow. After marriage, we were ready to not only teach our students, but also children of our own. Over five years later, we still cherish our beautiful marriage- which gets better every day, but have been unable to grow our little family. We have realized our love for each other is not biological in basis, but rather because we are family. Because of this, we look forward to raising a child that may not be biologically related, but that has joined our family through the miracle of adoption. 

What activities we look forward to doing with a child:

Family time will always be our first priority. Your child will enjoy daily family meals together, Saturday morning hikes in the woods, family game nights, and bedtime stories cuddled up together. Your child will be surrounded by love, corny jokes, and lots of laughter. In addition to the silly moments together, we will also offer the best holistic education. We value all aspects of education: faith, academics, music, sports, arts, community service and individual passions. We can’t wait to see our future children blossom as they become confident in themselves and their interests, showing their unique beauty.

Family celebrations that are important to us:

We take every opportunity to celebrate special events, holidays, and personal victories together as well as with our extended families. We are blessed to be able to celebrate every major holiday with both extended families, enjoy special activities together to celebrate birthdays, and take advantage of sweet dinners or trips to celebrate anniversaries or other life events.

Any religious identification:

We are Christians and strive to live in a way that reflects the life of Christ and the Bible. Above all else, we strive to show love to those around us with the knowledge that kindness, love, and goodwill will make our world a better place. 

Fun activities we like to do:
We love spending time doing activities together as a couple. We enjoy time outside, gardening, walks, bike rides, bonfires, playing board games, doing home renovation projects, and cooking elaborate meals together at home. We also love exploring unique and beautiful places, enjoying nature, trying delicious restaurants, and staying active. We also love spending time with our families and friends.

Where we live (city, rural, community):
We live in a suburban area on a large lot tucked into the corner of our city. We love our home both inside and out. Inside, we have beautiful common living space for spending time as a family and enough bedrooms for all of our future children. Outside, we have a diverse neighborhood filled with wonderful couples and families. A short walk or bike ride from our house is a huge park with hundreds of miles of trails in one direction and our downtown shopping area in the other. Our home is in one of the best school districts in the state.

A few fun facts about each of us:

• Dominic has a special ability to make every baby smile. He has no shame with making silly faces to ensure that every little kiddo he meets leaves smiling and laughing.
• Lydia is passionate about growing fresh food, cooking healthy meals, and ensuring that she and Dominic take care of their bodies in the best way they know.
• Dominic and Lydia co-directed and taught an engineering and science camp for elementary schoolers at their local school district, as well as at a large automotive corporation, for 6 years.

One thing we would like the birth family to know about us/why we would be good parents:

Our promise to you is that your child will always know the selfless love they experienced from their first family. Your child will know, see, and experience unconditional love, attention, support and understanding from their family. Your child will be given the best opportunities and allowed to pursue their interests. Above all, your child will learn that kindness and love make our world a better place.
