Besima & Luiz
First Names Only:
Besima and Luiz
Why we want to be parents:
We want to share what we do, what we have, and who we are with a child. To be part of a small human’s development. Watching this incredible being follow on our footsteps until they find their own path. Growing together, loving together.
What activities we look forward to doing with a child:
We both love to travel so we can’t wait to re-discover the world with someone that’s experiencing it for the first time. Also looking forward to the simpler things like the school play or game, meeting the neighborhood kids, and even the “Mom! Dad!” screams in the middle of the night.
The people/pets who make up our family:
We have a dog, he’s a pug named Sparty. He loves popcorn, ear rubs, and to hangout.
Our ethnic/cultural background:
Besima was born in Bosnian, and Luiz was born in Brazil.
Family celebrations that are important to us:
We celebrate Christmas, Easter, Ramadan, and Eid even though we are not religious. We decorate for Valentine’s Day and Halloween, but Thanksgiving is the biggest one in our home. It’s the perfect excuse to cook a lot of different foods, to make lots of desserts from Bosnia, Brazil and US, and to host our family and closest friends.
Any religious identification:
We believe in good energy, on doing the right thing, on helping others, but we have no religious affiliation.
Fun activities we like to do:
We love to cook, garden, travel, and exercise together. We also enjoy entertaining our friends and family.
Where we live (city, rural, community):
We live in a large town, but our neighborhood was designed to have that small-town feeling. Every house has a porch, neighbors say hi as they go by on the sidewalks, and kids play together in the streets. We are a short walk to parks, trails, farmers market, theater, ice cream shop and much more.
A few fun facts about each of us:
Besima has 35 cousins, and they stay in touch. Luiz was a boy scout in Brazil, he reached Fleur-de-Lis Scout which is the highest rank for boy scouts in Brazil.
One thing we would like the birth family to know about us/why we would be good parents:
Know that our child will be loved, will be exposed to all kinds of different experiences, and will have the opportunity to be their best. We promise that our child will always know that your love is what made us a family.
