Above are sections within this page that will explain the types of Adoptions available, a brief explanation of how each type of adoption works so that you may get an idea of the type of adoption you may be interested in. The section about Children Available is under construction and will be completed once we get links to AdoptUsKids.com and www.mare.org, which is the national clearing house for all State Ward Children available within the United States. MARE is the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange. Forever Families will utilize this section when we have a child available. This happens on the rare occasion for a specific child who is usually a State Ward child. The Red Flags section will describe for you things that happen within adoption that you should watch out for. It is a preparation on how to pick an adoption agency, intermediary or attorney to assist you in this process. There are many good Agency's, Intermediaries and Attorney's providing ethical services to families. However, within any business, there are those who are not ethical and are doing this because there is money in it for them. We refer to them as "sharks" and sharks remain in the water as long as they are fed. Forever Families believes that an educated family will knowingly make the adoption choice that is best for their family. We believe, and it is part of our mission, that adoption is about choice and that being educated about the adoption process is as important as the adoption itself.
