DENISE M. WEISS, LMSW, MSW, CSW
Denise Weiss, a co-founder of Forever Families, has been practicing social work since 1981. Denise earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University with an emphasis on Behavioral Psychology in 1980. She then went on to earn a Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University in 1985. Denise also completed educational certification in school social work and psychological testing through the University of Michigan. She is a certified social worker with the Board of Examiners of Social Workers through the State of Michigan.
Denise provides a wealth of knowledge in adoption, with over 30 years direct experience in adoption and permanency planning for children. Denise has overseen and facilitated thousands of adoptions.
She is a strong advocate for children and families and works tirelessly to make sure clients receive top quality services. Denise has a strong commitment to provide education and resources to adoptive families, birth parents and children.
She has dedicated many hours to educating community groups and has been appointed to many committees that have spearheaded changes in adoption policy and law. She has provided testimony to the State of Michigan Legislature giving input on legislation and advocated for resources and regulations of adoption services. Denise has also been a guest speaker on several television shows involving adoption. She is constantly searching for information to expand adoption resources and improve services to families and the community.
Denise sees adoption services as a vocation, which she continuously demonstrates in providing support, options and resources to Forever Families clients.

JEAN M. STENZEL, LMSW, MSW
Jean M. Stenzel is one of the co-founders of Forever Families, Inc. She has been working in the social work field since 1986 after completing her Bachelor of Science degree from Lake Superior State University. Jean went on to earn her Master in Social Work degree in 1996 from Wayne State University.
Jean has a commitment to children and families and has spent many years advocating for children. She has been part of many committees and collaborative groups (Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange, Kinship) that have focused on providing permanence for children. Jean has provided her experience and expertise through collaborations with community public and private adoption facilitators.
Jean has testified in front of the State of Michigan Legislature in regards to adoption issues and resolutions. She continues to demonstrate adoption leadership as an active member of the Executive Committee and Board Member of the Michigan Federation of Child and Family Agencies, which introduces and advocates state and legal policies governing children’s issues including adoption. Jean has also served on the Board of Directors for the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers promoting fair and ethical practice in the social work field.
Jean holds a strong commitment to providing ethical adoption services with an active role in protecting adoptive families, birth parents and children. She believes in the insurance of permanency for children and the promotion of adoption awareness throughout the state of Michigan.
